If marriage is defined as a union between one man and one woman then does that in someway prevent a gay man from marrying any woman he wants to marry???

Is a gay woman prohibited from marrying any man she wants to marry???

If you created a new word for a union between one man and one man, would that union have the same rights, rules and protections as a marriage. I think it would develop different rights and protections based on the unique nature of that union.

The same can be said of a union between one woman and one woman. That union would be different than a union between two men and different than marriage.

I fully support same sex unions whatever you decide to call them but a marriage is a man and a woman. Pick a new word and work out the rules for it.

Gay activists are saying that all they want is to be treated like straights.

WRONG! And that is so very easy to prove.

Both traditionally and historically marriage has been between one woman and one man.

Now lwt's codify that concept. We are going to pass a law that says simply that marriage is between one man and one woman.

That law would fall equally on all males and all females. It all reapects it would be an ultimate in equality.

To request an exception to that law would be asking to NOT be treated equally. It would be asking for an exception based on sexual preference.

Note that in the above commentary I said nothing about the rightness or wrongness of homosexuality. I only pointed out that what liberal activists are requesting is not equality, but rather an exception to equality.

You have got a great question here . LOL Because as long as conservative Christians are pointing fingers and thinking about sin they might as well include greed . One of the 7 deadly sins .

one cannot ban that which does not exist...you want special ,exclusive rights for people that already have them...
