I mean, they hate us because of our freedom, right? And President Bush is set on reducing our freedoms.. so they won't hate us so much. And to me it seems to be working because we haven't been attacked in over 7 years. God Bless you President Bush!

The terrorists don't hate us because of our freedom -- that is a myth spun by the government and the corporate-controlled media. They hate us because of our foreign policy.

And is the strategy working? That depends on what you see as the reason for the strategy.

If the reason for the strategy is strip us of our civil liberties, it is certainly working very well. The war on terror has witnessed a steady stream of new legislation aimed at increasing executive power and diminishing American civil liberties. And that continues to this day despite the fact that we have not been attacked on home soil since 2001, despite our sloppy border and port security.

And the government is spending billions of dollars on restricting the rights of US citizens yet fails to secure our ports and borders?

Did you know that the President now has the power to invoke martial law without congressional approval, for whatever he deems as a "national emergency"?

Have you heard about the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act" of 2007 which is currently in the process of becoming law?

And don't be tricked by the name of the legislation. It is AIMED AT US CITIZENS.

If you read up on the legislation, you will see that the distinction between "dissent", "crime" and "terrorism" is rapidly disappearing -- all in the name of keeping us safe from "terrorism". In fact, under that new Act, I can be labeled as a "homegrown" terrorist for this post (and for that, I could be jailed without charge or trial for as long as the government wishes to hold me).

No, he didn't deliver on his promise to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice while Al Queada grows in Pakistan. Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorism. Bush wanted to exploit the oil cost's and destroyed the GOP in the process. The World knows the difference, and the remaining GOP sheep are the ones still in denial of the facts. The Democrats always have to clean up the corruption from the right wingers greed.

If you believe that Bush's attack on our freedoms and subversion of the Constitution is a victory against the terrorists, it appears you are not aware of the history of the U.S. and its valiant fight for these liberties. Benjamin Franklin said it best:

"Those who give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty not safety."

Are you really THAT naive? You surely don't believe that, right?
