Question:
UK PM Brown gave Obama very rare gift, but Obama gave him a DVD set, that he cannot even play?

UK Prime Minister Gordan Brown presented a rare gift to Obama made from wood of a very old ship. A true treasure. Obama's team gave what can probably be considered the most lame gift ever given to another nation, let alone one of our best allies, in the history of our country. He gave him a DVD set of movies. Naturally the British are perplexed.

When questioned, Obama's team now admits it was a dumb gift. They claim they were just too tired. Heck, you cannot even play US DVDs in the UK, they use a different standard. Clearly this is exactly an indication of what many people said, that Obama would have to learn on the job, since he has no executive experience and no foreign relations experience.

Do you think he will learn from this and stop embarrassing our nation?

"stop embarrassing our nation" NOPE! more embarrassing to follow. Maybe we should just send letters to other countries explaining that our fearless leader is receiving his "on the job training"

The gift to Gordon Brown WAS thoughtful! The White House 'backroom boys' did their homework well. They found that the Browns like to unwind at night watching classic British and American films and they are both particularly fond of the great Hollywood movies. The Mail has learned that the quality limited edition boxed set was produced by the American Film Institute as a 'special request' for the White House last month. The movies are: Citizen Kane The Godfather Casablanca Raging Bull Singin' in the Rain Gone With the Wind Lawrence of Arabia Schindler's List The Wizard of Oz City Lights The Searchers Star Wars IV Psycho 2001 Space Odyssey Sunset Boulevard The Graduate On the Waterfront It's a Wonderful Life Chinatown Some Like it Hot The Grapes of Wrath ET The Extraterrestrial To Kill a Mockingbird A great collection for movie buffs ... pure American Hollywood 'royalty' ... and much more enjoyable than a 'pen holder'!

His rudeness is just that... rudeness. Mr. Brown shouldn't feel bad, though - Obama doesn't like America, much less England, and he is just as rude and uncouth to the American people who don't fall down and worship him! I think it was a deliberate slight... just like using the middle finger during his campaign to rest on his face.... he's giving America the middle finger.

But it's still embarrassing for those of us who are Americans and appreciate England and history. When obama took away Churchill's bust from the White House (which was a gift from England) and sent it back, I knew what was coming.. that he was going to show disdain for England in anyway he could.... however, that sure isn't true for the Muslim countries which he loves and by the way, gave his first, albeit, secret TV address after taking office.... he is favoring those he loves and trampling on everyone else....

It shows you they have no class...none of the administration. A bunch of left over hacks from the Clintons and tax cheats and suspect individuals. What do they know about a thoughtful gift to a world leader? They couldn't care less..They embarrassed the U.S.A. in the eyes of the world and you know what? They don't care. Do you know he didn't hold a press conference which is customary when world leaders come to visit? Did you know he did not give Brown a State Dinner? Did you know he didn't bring him to Camp David? Did you know he ignored him and humiliated him? Wow, that is on the job training does for you...Totally uncouth...and ignorant of social graces and leadership. He embarrassed America by this oversight of Brown and the British will never let him forget it...Wait till Obama needs them as allies, they will tell him to take a hike.

Stealthy middle finger cheek scratch to us in America....tacky cheap basket of DVD's to England. What a piece of socialist trash Obama is.

Oh, and don't forget the special touch Obama added by giving back the historic bust of Winston Churchill to the Brits after they gave it to us after 9/11 to signify that we stand together as one. What a slap in the face to our closest friends and allies.

There's two things keeping him from using the DVD's. The U.S. is in DVD region 1 and the UK is in DVD region 2, plus the U.S. TV is NTSC and in the UK it's PAL.

"Heck, you cannot even play US DVDs in the UK, they use a different standard."

Yep. US DVDs are region 1, and European DVDs are region 2. Mr. Brown will have to get himself a region free player.

Obama also doesn't know what to say without the help of his precious teleprompter...even if it is a speech he has given a million times....this impairs him from actually looking at people while speaking....I really wonder if he'd read anything written...like Ron Burgundy...
