Is there any doubt at all in your mind that Blagojevich is guilty ?

I think he's guilty but his speech was pretty impressive with Rudyard Kippling and all... my dad used to read that poem to me so it hit a soft spot in my heart........

Technically he needs to be tried first, then he's guilty.

If he is innocent, he doesn't show it. If you accused an innocent Governor of what he is accused of, he would be screaming bloody murder and filing lawsuits right and left.

Blogo is just rationalizing his innocence based on technicalities.

A blind person can see that he is guilty as sin.

I'm fairly certain he is guilty, but he has one h*ll of a lawyer who knows how to play the game. And Blagojevich himself isn't exactly a newbie to this game either.

Many others have been in similar situations, meaning they have been involved in scandals that it was believed would take them down. And they would panic, and lose all their bargaining chips by stepping down and giving the mea culpa speeches and so forth.

Blagojevich has held onto every single one of his bargaining chips, his lawyer is using the Constitution to Blagojevich's benefit quite adeptly. And their opponents in the Illinois Senate and the Federal level Senate are playing things rather stupidly.

I have very little doubt that if the Senate continues to play as it is, Blagojevich's lawyer will take it to the Supreme Court, and there is a strong chance he'll win. It's not really fair that they are playing the system as they are, but anyone paying attention has got to impressed with the lawyer Blagojevich chose.

He is not guilty of selling Obama's senate seat, the only thing he can be prosecuted for would be thinking of the possibility of selling that seat. The crime is not as serious as everyone says though... There was alot more serious crimes in the past. The most infamous is when Vice President Aaran Burr shot and killed Alexander Hamilton.

I honestly don't know. It sure looks bad for him, but I'm not sure if he really did anything besides talk about it.

Is that enough to convict him? If I say I'd like to punch somebody in the nose is that enough to convict me of assault?

Maybe he can be convicted of conspiracy to sell the senate seat if they have sufficient evidence.

That's up to the courts, I guess.

But, doesn't it seem like the news media has already convicted him? Even if he is found innocent, a lot of people will probably think he was guilty.

I don't condone what he was attempting to do at all, but I will say that he is more guilty of falling out of grace with the "king makers" in politics than for what he's done. This goes on all the time and he got caught because someone tipped the authorities. "Pay to play" politics is not his brain child. Not by a long shot.

Plenty of doubt. I have not been privy to all the facts and there has yet to be a trial. In the US you are considered innocent until proved guilty. Sound like you would fail a simple US Constitutional test.

Yes, I think he's guilty, but not Obama. Blago seems like that Mafia type of dude by the way that he speaks and acts. He's probably made so many dirty deals with crooked people just to advance his career. He would have played a good role in the film 'Goodfellows' lol.

When the Democrats in the Congress and the Senate say he should step down and or be impeached his is GUILTY.

If Blagojevich wasn't guilty he would have appointed anyone to begin with and there would be no tapes of him discussing it.

So sometimes while it's nice trying not to believe whats before your very own eyes one needs to rub them and see the facts even when they are not pretty.

Well , lets see here ,

Chicago , Democrat , Politician ,

Three Illinois Governors imprisoned before this guy ,

Mayor Richard Daley fixed the Presidential election between

John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon , causing Watergate .

So , I think there is a 99% chance he is a low life piece of crap !

no more or less guilty than any other politician.

If you don't think they all do it, you are delusional.

I guess innocent until proven guilty only applies to Presidents caught funding terrorists huh?

Jeana, if you have lived in Chicago all of your life, you would know, accusing the other party of scandal is the core of Chicago politics, and really means nothing, but politics as usual.

Having not been involved in the investigation, I have doubts. I find it humorous how quickly Obama threw him under the bus after their career long support of each other. But in Obama's case, he threw his Grand-mom, Pastor, Real Estate Partner, Economic adviser, Policy Adviser, Fund Raisers...all under the bus. There is the real Character of the man, but wait Character does not matter to Dems, unless you are the Governor of Illinois.

He is one among many Chicago politicians who are so corrupt they forgot where the rest of the country drew the lines.

I hope he has a food-taster and does not travel via small planes so he doesn't end up like those who were going to testify against the last Dem pres.

I am 100% certain without a doubt that he is guilty and one of the most corrupt sickos out there. Obama basically told him if you appoint this black man to my former senate seat instead of one of the other guys who we have evidence you were about to accept a bribe from to fill the seat, then you won't lose your position and that's exactly what happened, so I'm not about to stick my head in the sand and pretend those who let him stay in power are any less corrupt. I feel physical revolsion when I see him and am shocked at how Illionois can easily turn a blind eye to such corruption. Thank goodness I don't live there cuz it sure wouldn't fly in my state! That senate seat should've gone to the polls and voted on by the people, not ended up getting an appointment by this PROVEN corrupt con-artist. I am so disgusted by our government.

I have lived in chicago my whole life... they are never innocent. Besides if Blagojevich has already been under fire for TWO separate scandals I'd say he's probably putting himself in position for a 3rd before his term is up.

He's guilty. Everything he says now has been gone over by his lawyers first, so of course he is going to attempt to seem somewhat innocent.

I have no doubt that Blagojevich is guilty of trying to enrich himself -- he is only different in that he got caught. Corruption is rampant in Chicago.

That is exactly what he intended. Aiming at one's heart strings instead of their logical mind which places guilt upon him. He is a smart, practiced, crooked politician.
2009-01-03 01:06:46 UTC
what is your proof of guilt. did he recieve money for said senate seat or is it cuz he is a lib. people say stupid shiite all the time, unless you can prove said dirty deeds, you are just say stupid shiite, guilty till proven innocent is the con way, huh
