If the British sailors had believed in their mission, would they really have "confessed" on Iranian TV?

I think nothing shows how weak Britain is than how little support they have from their own military.

If the choice is a fake confession or a 7 year sentence in an Iranian prison, I say they should "confess."
Iran has no credibility anyway.

If we anticipate that the Iranian diplomats are fairly diplomats and not modern-day shelter attempting to furnish weapons.....then the only distinction I see is that the british have been squaddies in contested waters and the iranians have been in a contested u . s . a .. With our government's checklist on torture, you may think of that there could be thoughts approximately any torture or loss of torture. in fact, 2 iranians have been released suitable around the time that the squaddies have been. there is not any distinction between an Iranian, an Israeli, or an American. we are all and sundry. some are good, some are undesirable. All Iranians are no longer our enemies and its silly to think of of a complete u . s . a . is your enemy whilst its fairly merely our government against their government.

hi there we can not judge those in a battle of war. we are here at home sleeping well with our families .working our daily lives. just watching the news and enjoying a hot cup of coffee in the morning laugh ting with our family & friends spending our money eating the good life away whom are we to judge anyone in the hands of the ememy. If they say something rather not truthful only those 15 british men & one woman know what really happend . if it was not for those british troops fighting alone side the americans what miltary would our country have now we should thank all those that fought alone side our amercan troops it's a war beyone darkness the devil himself not men I belive in the word of god and seeing what I see now I know that we need all the help we can get to fight off this war . those land have been a war for many years and it will not stop till the hand of god is in it. you can chose to belive it or not

Of course. As time goes on, the more likely it seems that the confessions were coerced. They are still humans, and as is true with anybody else, they do have weaknesses. I mean, they were faced with the option of confessing or suffering lots of torture, imprisonment, and possibly death. That's a lot to stand up to. Nobody's perfect.

If I held a gun to your head and told you to confess or else, what would be your choice? The only place where people keep to their principles even when facing death is 24 (nice show BTW).
PS: And you know that they were not threatened with death because you were there? Even if they were not directly threatened, the history of Islamic groups kidnapping hostages and then killing them would have been in the forefront of their minds. Keep in mind that they were separated and did not know the fate of each other.

A forced confession is worthless. If iran had really caught someone illegally in there territory do you think they would give them back to their country of origin?

Americans have done the same thing.
their "confession" had nothing to do with their mission, it had to do with survival..and i think if you were in their situation you would have done the same thing.

I won't condemn their confessions until we found out what was going on off camera. However I don't like the fact that they kissed butt and took those "goodie" bags when they left.

I would have fought and let them kill me rather than come home and have to live the rest of my life being ridiculed by "COMPASSIONATE LOVING PEOPLE" as the Brits and Americans claim to be. It would be maddening to have to live with that, so why don't all of you pirahnnas leave those folks be!!!!!!

They lived to fight another day, and they quite possibly prevented WW3. We should all be thanking them!

your question is ridiculous,,,,If I put a 45 to your head and ****** it and had you believing thatt I had killed one of your friends and would do the same to you...you would confess to being a God fearing Conservative rather tha the obvious unintelligent liberal you are......why not show support for the UK and US rather than those WACKO MUZZIE TERRORISTS

LoL...you're pathetic.
Let's see what you do in solitary confinement with a gun to your head inside a prison, in a foreign land.

Maybe they had their fingers crossed. Asking you to stop lying is like asking Bill Clinton to stop sexually assaulting women, and, come to think about it, it's like asking Bill to stop lying also.
