Question:
Why to progressives sppinners tell us that the POTUS doesn't create the budget and then say Bush created debt?

But they say Clinton's budget gave us a surplus. So it was his budget, not the Republican Congress.
But Obama has nothing to do with the budget. Wait Presidents don't do budgets. Congress does.

Wow, how the job of the President has changed.

The President proposes the Budget to the Congress for approval.

"Each year, the President of the United States submits his budget request to Congress for the following fiscal year as required by the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921. "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Budget

"Title II - Sec. 201: The President shall transmit to Congress on the first

day of each regular session, the Budget, which shall set forth in

summary and in detail:"

@Tina Turner

The first Budget Obama has signed is for the FY2009, in March 2009

@Tina Turner 3

never deny the evidence... ;-)

But anyway we're back to the main problem... The Congress (Democratic) that approved it, Bush, or Obama who put the final sign?

When the President signs off on the budget, it's "his".

YOu know, just like "Obamacare". He didn't write it, but he signed it so "it's Obama's"...right?

What budget did Obama sign off on?

@ Common Sense......No. There was no "BUDGET" associated with these talks.

There was the debt ceiling...check

There was a spending cut....check.

WHAT BUDGET?? There was no budget in these negotiations. You are confused with something else.

And with regard to Obama's budget proposal, it was voted down 97-0. But don't take too much "fuzzy feeling" out of that. It was a farce/bogus budget designed to get to vote on Ryan's budget. It failed miserably, although it was a SERIOUS attempt.

any other points you want to try to make? Just ask. I can help you out.

@BadWolf....that was the "Omnibus spending budget". That is different from the regular Gov't fiscal year budget. Just look at your link, and the amount of the budget. There's NO WAY the Gov't runs for a year on that amount.

From your own link..."The omnibus bill consists of the nine uncompleted FY 2009 appropriations bills, including the Transportation-HUD appropriations bill."

The 2009 FY budget is effective from Oct 2008-Oct 2009. The true fiscal year budget for the Federal Gov't was written, passed and signed BEFORE Obama took office.

And WOLF...not many on here admit when they're wrong. Thumbs up to you, for setting a good example.

the Potus is the one who has the ultimate responsibility for the budget but rarely makes it. the clown we now have does nothing just like Clinton. Bush at least did something., it was wrong but it was something.

really don't see any difference.

Good point.

Congress authorizes spending. The president simply signs the bills they pass into law. The president COULD veto these bills, generally they don't however.

The president proposes a budget every year and every year it is promptly ignored. (This did not start with Obama).

The right-minded have always said the president creates the budget. Because it's true. it goes to congress for voting of course.

your statement makes no sense....a president doesnt make the budget but can most certainly create debt....so what is you question?

Because Bush created the debt. The answer was already in your question
