If it was something people were not willing to give so much money for...they would let you smoke all you like. The feds make a lot of cash on the illegal drug trade

It has nothing to do with Marijuana's negative effects, it all has to do with the money and who's getting it. Well the main reason today is Marijuana is not owned or made by a company on which the government can tax. Unlike the tobacco companies which the government taxes very highly and/or is paid large sums under the table.

Also Marijuana and tobacco have very different histories. Tobacco was at one time a huge player in the economy, without tobacco many small countries probably wouldn't exist today. Tobacco was most small countries only export and they made a lot of profit on tobacco. If tobacco were to change places with marijuana then a pack of cigarettes today would be called a pack of spliffs.

Because if you grow it, smoke it and all the rest, it takes money out of some Colombians hands. Selling it, I don't agree with, personal use issues is a grey area with me. Persons bring Drugs in from other countries should be shot on sight. IMO.

i think it should be legal for adults but i believe the concern is about schoolchildren. marijuana, obviously has a dramatic effect on studying and attendance as well as the way an adolescent handles the pressures that confront people of this age group.

So long as you get it from a government dealer it should be OK .

Because it would be difficult for them to control it or to TAX it, since it can be grown anywhere.

Because it might harm others. Do as you please but don't hurt the bystanders.
