Question:
Are people so dumb that they don't see that Net Neutrality is the first step to endless fees like the phones?

I just want to know are most people so dumb they can't see what government intrusion leads to.

Net Neutrality - sounds nice - the government wants to come in a regulate just a FEW big corporations who have wanted to put some controls on their OWN property. This is about wires much like a train company - the wires are the rails - when there is too much traffic on the rails the train company imposes restrictions to keep traffic moving and of course favor the trains they own over those they don't own. In that same way the traffic on the wires owned by Comcast and others have become overburden at times and they slowed down the connection of a few who were causing the majority of the traffic jam.

These few companies complained to the FCC and FCC told Comcast it can't slow down anyone and Comcast took it to court and WON - the court ruled the FCC has no legal authority over the internet. That these wires are the personal property of Comcast and they are free to do as they feel fit to do.

Now the FCC is saying it will declare the internet a UTILITY like the phone company.

Beyond this "treat everyone equal" on the internet despite the traffic being on private wires the FCC wants to impose a TAX on internet use to pay for internet for poor and rural areas MUCH LIKE THE PHONES.

Now go look at your phone bill - see all those "Fees" - those are taxes - taxes from Uncle Sam, the state, to local government and so on - That is what you will be seeing in short time if the FCC gets it's way.

SO MY QUESTION IS WHY DON'T MORE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT NET NEUTRALITY IS ABOUT GETTING GOVERNMENT INTO THE INTERNET TO REGULATE AND TAX???

Those companies have monopolies. Internet connectivity is provided by either the cable companies or the phone companies. Both of those are 'utilities'. Anytime the government grants monopolies, it has to regulate them.

We both agree that the internet should be free and unregulated.

What you fail to see is that the ISP's DO regulate and control the internet the way you fear the government will. The companies and the government are one in the same on these sorts of issues. It is naive to defend the one simply because you like the free market.

If you want the internet to be truly free and uncensored (as it should be) then let the government and the corporations fight it out. Maybe they will kill each other off.

the FCC made it a rule that internet companies, like the different employer, can not fee us money for his or her centers after which turn around and not grant those centers that's what internet neutrality is all approximately

It is a way to control the flow of information. The internet is the greatest soap box we have, everybody gets to have their say, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Very good and you are right on the money. Hey whenever the socialists are in power all they want to do is regulate, and legislate, and tax whatever is left. Unfortunately we are living in the period creeping socialism.

Yes they are that dumb.

They are also that dumb to want the gas prices to be 10 bucks a gallon.

For Obamas Climate bill to pass and cause our Electric bills to go up 3 times what they are now.

They are SHEEP and VERY DUMB PEOPLE!

So you'd rather have corporations control what you see on the internet?
