You have these people in your family, you work with them, some of them are your friends.

Conservative and liberal are not races. However, particularly on this forum they seem to have become slurs.

Very realistic question to ask. I asked myself that question a few years back and located this quote that I call on regularly:
“We all want…the same things in life. We want freedom; we want the chance for prosperity; we want to be the best we can be; we want as few people suffering as possible, economically; we want healthy children; we want to have crime-free streets; all these things, they’re pretty common…The argument is how to achieve them.” ~Rush Limbaugh, July 9, 2004
With that said... I feel secure in saying no, to any educated individual, liberal vs. conservatives in more of class prejudice rather than race...
it is the Liberal policies that generally want the government to play a key role in solving our country's problems and help us to achieve the goal
And then you have the conservatives who generally want the empowerment of the individual to solve problems and play key roles reaching where we need to be as a country.

No because those labels identify the content of a person's character (or lack thereof in the case of liberals) regardless of physical traits such as skin color.

I don't understand what labels like conservative and liberal have to do with race. Can you enlighten me?

No...because many people call themselves liberal and conservative...they are self proclaimed names...I would say it is generalizing when a republican is called a conservative if they do no consider themselves one and calling a democrat a liberal if they do not consider themselves one.... but I would not call it racism.

Not really.
One chooses to be a liberal or a conservative, based upon certain criteria: facts, reason, history, emotion, whatever.
We cannot choose our race.
I think the comparison, if I understand your question, is invalid.

Think again. The word 'Infidel' is the oldest and the newest form of racism.

No, not at all. I think that frequently people attempt to make race issues out of them at times, but both parties are racially blind.

I would never be friends with a conservative. They are too self righteous, and hateful. They think that patriotism is staying dumb to what the government does in our name. Yes. we are the people, what a few in power do reflects us. We are not supposed to sit back and let these people, who are made of flesh and blood like you and me, be gods and choose for us.

Yes, I know plenty of conservatives, family and friends, and they are all good people, although we disagree

I think the whole liberal/consrvative thing is a bogus dichotomy , anyway. The opposite of "conservative" is "radical". The opposite of "liberal" is "close-minded" .Here's my complete answer, in another question .
no...it's simply generalized labeling and most people who use it can't really define the concepts. in its purest form it is a sign of lazy thought processing.

Conservatism and Liberalism aren't races. They're not inborn. They are ideologies, and ciriticizng them is fair game. (Just be fair about it.)
I think the word you mean is form of "bigotry". I see a lot of that.

You're right, it must be very insulting to be called a Con.
